A Study on the Correlation Between Job Satisfaction and Organization Climate for Clinical Nurses in General Hospital


Abstract
The study attempted to analyze and confirm the correlation between the job satisfaction and satisfaction of organization climate.
A job satisfaction and satisfaction of organization climate questionaire developed by Kim et als. was used for this study.
It contains 26 statement and utilizes a likert type scale of 5.
It was decided to conduct the study in one general hospital in Taejon. A sample of 165 clinical nurses was selected to participate in this study from 23 May to 10 June, 1989. The result of this study were as follows.
1. The overall mean score for the 14 five-point scales of job satisfaction was 3.012, showing that the subject of this study were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.
2. The overall mean score for the 12 five point scales of satisfaction of organization climate was 3.092 showing that the subject of this study were satisfied to some extend.
3. The relationship between the job satisfaction and the subject¢¥s general characteristic were not statistically significant, but relationship between the job satisfaction and age was statistically significant (P < .05).
4. The relationship between the satisfaction of organization climate and subject general characteristic were not statistically significant, but the relationship between the satisfaction of organization climate and educational background was statistically significant (P < .05).
5. The correlation between the degree of job satisfaction and the satisfaction of organization climate was little. There was not significant (r=.001 P > .05).
